About the Author

Shna J. Shirin was born in Qaladze, a mountainous town in Kurdistan. At the age of 8, she moved to the UK where she lived and studied, eventually graduating as a lawyer. She went on to run a successful family business for five years, but deep inside, she always carried a longing to write — a dream she’d had since her teenage years.

In 2024, she finally made the bold decision to give up all previous work and dedicate herself fully to writing. That same year, she returned to Kurdistan permanently with her husband and three children, settling in the vibrant city of Erbil.

When not writing, Shna loves spending time with her children, going on outings, and exploring the beauty of Kurdistan. Her books are inspired by both her heritage and the magical perspective of childhood — aiming to bring joy, imagination, and cultural pride to young readers everywhere.
